Utica Community Schools to host one of region’s largest student art festival March 18-20

Drawing of FlowerUtica Community Schools will present its annual K-12 Fine Arts Festival March 18 through March 20, located at Rose Kidd Elementary School, 38397 Gladstone Drive.

The festival will feature nearly 5,000 pieces of student artwork.

Gallery hours for the free event will be from 6:00 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 18; 1 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19; and from 1 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20.

For the March 18 opening night,  a free shuttle to the festival will be available from Stevenson High School.

Students will display both two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces of artwork, which include drawings in pencil, pen, marker, oil pastel, soft chalk pastel, ink, mixed media, and paintings in tempera, acrylic and oil.

Guests will see traditional and digital photography, short films, Public Service Announcements and video game design projects. Art will also include fibers ranging in functional fashion to weavings, relief and in-the-round sculptures, as well as, hand built to wheel-thrown ceramic vessels and pieces.
More than 10,000 patrons annually visit what is now one of the region’s largest student art show.
